Is this the worst you’ve seen?

It’s never the worst I’ve seen.

The answer is an adamant and passionate "no." As an experienced residential, business, and event organizer (going on 17 years), I have seen it all. I promise you, I‘ve seen worse. And, I’ll let you in on a little secret, when I look at a new space, I see not what it currently is, but what it can become. I consider it simultaneously an occupational hazard and a blessing that I only see what it will be!

Are you going to make me get rid of my stuff?

No pressure.

I won’t pressure you to get rid of your items. I’ll talk to you about the best way to honor your valued memories and best practices for maximizing your space. I’ll give you storage ideas and suggest ways to make your life more productive. I‘ll assist in creating your dream and vision. In some cases, this might involve removing items from your home. In other cases, it may involve organizing your possessions so that your life and space is more functional.

It will never last.

I’ll teach you to maintain your clean slate.

This is a valid concern. Yes, what if we get it all organized, even Pinterest-perfect, and then you can’t maintain the space? Let’s chat about that… During our time together I’ll do several things: I’ll set up systems that are simple, a system where every item has one home, one resting place. Next, I’ll make sure that these systems make sense and work for your habits, aesthetic, and lifestyle. Then, I’ll set up a maintenance schedule so that you can address the stuff that flows through your house. And finally, if you need additional support, I can come back periodically (once a month, once a quarter, once a year) to help you return to ground zero.

What if it costs too much?

We’ll find the right SOLUTION for you.

I charge by the hour, so naturally, if it takes a long time, then the cost will be higher. But consider this… how long did it take you to accumulate all the stuff in your house? Five years? 10 years? 30 years? If it has taken you 30 years to gather all of your stuff, then it may take some time to assess their value in your life and make some decisions. If you are concerned about budget, I can provide “homework” that you can do between sessions.
